Usage Guide

1. Automatic Activation

The tire system automatically activates when:

  1. Player enters a configured F1 vehicle

  2. Player is in the driver's seat

  3. Vehicle model exists in Config.CarModels

The UI automatically shows tire temperature indicators for all four wheels.

2. Understanding the UI

The interface displays:

Four Tire Indicators:

  • Front Left - Front left tire temperature (%)

  • Front Right - Front right tire temperature (%)

  • Rear Left - Rear left tire temperature (%)

  • Rear Right - Rear right tire temperature (%)

Color Coding:

  • Blue/Cold - Low temperature, poor grip

  • Green/Optimal - Ideal temperature, maximum grip

  • Red/Hot - High temperature, approaching maximum

Percentage Display:

  • Shows temperature as percentage of min-max range

  • 0% = Minimum temperature (cold)

  • 100% = Maximum temperature (hot)

3. Tire Temperature Management

Heating Tires

During Formation Lap:

  1. Weaving - Steer left and right at moderate speed

  2. Braking - Hard braking zones to heat front tires

  3. Acceleration - Brief burnouts for rear tire heat

During Race:

  • Cornering - Natural heating through turns

  • Braking Zones - Heavy braking heats fronts via brake heat transfer

  • Traction Zones - Wheel spin heats rears

Cooling Effects

Tires naturally cool when:

  • Low Speed - Below configured SlowSpeed threshold

  • Straight Line - Minimal steering input

  • No Braking - Brakes cool, reducing tire heating

  • High Speed - Faster cooling at optimal temperature range

Grip Impact

Cold Tires (20-40°C):

  • 60% grip reduction

  • Significant oversteer/understeer

  • Longer braking distances

  • Difficult car control

Warm Tires (60-80°C):

  • 20% grip reduction

  • Improved but not optimal performance

  • Better than cold, worse than optimal

Optimal Tires (80°C+):

  • Full grip

  • Maximum performance

  • Best lap times

  • Predictable handling
